McDonald blow for Mayo

Mayo's Ciaran McDonald
Mayo manager John O'Mahony has revealed that talisman Ciaran McDonald won't be fit for the big Connacht SFC first round clash with Galway on May 20.
McDonald hasn't featured for Mayo since last September's All-Ireland final loss to Kerry with a back injury, but it had been hoped that he would have regained full fitness in time for the start of this year's championship.
But O'Mahony said: "The news on Ciaran isn't great. At this stage, he won't be fit enough for the Mayo-Galway game in five weeks time.
"Down the road we will have to wait and see but the back injury just hasn't responded at this point in time. He has worked extremely hard to get back into action, but it is just not happening."
