Mortimer doubtful for NFL semi-final
April 10, 2007
A shoulder injury could rule Conor Mortimer out of Mayo's NFL semi-final against arch-rivals Galway at Croke Park on Sunday.
The Shrule-Glencorrib forward, who scored a hat-trick of goals in the Division 1A win over Tyrone in Omagh, was visibly in pain on a couple of occasions after picking up a shoulder injury in the first half.
The Mayo players were involved in club games on Bank Holiday Monday and manager John O'Mahony was keeping his fingers crossed that there would be no more casualties. O'Mahony will be able to call on Peadar Gardiner, David Heaney, James Kilcullen and team captain Kevin O'Neill after they were rested for last Sunday's game, with Ciaran McDonald not expected back until the championship.
