The late John Kirrane The death has taken place of John Kirrane, Gortjordan, Kilmaine. His wife Mary predeceased him in 2001. John is mourned by his daughters Marian, Bernadette, Margaret and Angela; sister-in-law Helen, Kilquire, where John originally came from, relations, neighbours and friends. John was renowned for his skills on the football field and played for the Kilmaine team that won the South Mayo final in 1954. In 1993 Kilmaine GAA presented him with The Hall of Fame award for his many achievements. His burial took place in Kilmaine new cemetery after 12 noon Mass in St.Patrick's Church, Kilmaine.
