Mayo's surprise Connacht SFC semi-final defeat to Galway on Saturday was compounded by a serious shoulder injury for Jason Gibbons.
The midfielder was stretchered off after dislocating his shoulder during the first half. Mayo manager Stephen Rochford admitted that losing the Ballintubber clubman was a setback, telling the Western People: "Jason had been doing quite well. Seamie (O'Shea), who came in for him, hadn't played as much football as we'd have liked over the last while,
"Jason was certainly a big loss to us and will certainly be out for a lengthy period of time."
Ger Cafferkey, Conor Loftus and Chris Barrett all sat out Saturday's game because of injury, but should be back for Mayo's first taste of All-Ireland qualifier action since the shock loss to Longford in 2010.
