Coyle, Bridget

September 29, 2009
THE death took place recently in Mayo Gen eral Hospital of Bridget Coyle, Churchfield Park, Knock and formerly ofBallinaclash, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow.

Bridget and her husband Michael, a native of Roscommon, moved to Knock around 17 years ago. They resided in London for many years before re-settling in Ireland and moing to Knock.

MIck was very closely associated with the GAA in London and was well known at top level in the Association throughout the UK. He was a delegate from London to the Central Council on numerous occasions and was on first name terms with many of the top officers at Croke Park.

On arrival in Mayo, he became a member of the Aghamore club and has remained a regular supporter of Aghamore and his native Roscommon ever since.

Bridget was also closely associated with the Irish scene during her years in England and was actively involved in supporting the causes of the Birmingham Siz and the Guilford Four.

When she took a cause on board, she gave it tremendous commitment. She enjoyed her years in Knock and Mayo even though she had been in ill health for a considerable time. She was a lady of quiet and gentle disposition who always retained a great affection and fondness for her home county of Wicklow.

Removal took place from the funeral home at the General Hospital to Knock Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr Richard Gibbons and the funeral proceeded afterwards to her home area of Co Wicklow.

She is survived by her husband Mick, relatives, neighbours and friends.
