Mayo manager James Horan is in no doubt that they will have to make changes ahead of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

A surprise defeat to Roscommon has left Mayo heading down the qualifier route and they have four weeks to prepare for round two.

Horan told the Roscommon Herald that time would be used to rectify some of the mistakes they made last Saturday and he added that they needed to make changes following a loss.

“We have four weeks to our next game. We’ll definitely change a few things, we’ll have to because we got beaten. We will see where we can make improvements. And we will play as hard as a we can when we get back out,” stressed Horan.

“We are out of the Connacht championship, but we’re still in the competition. We’ll work very hard for the next time we play. Cillian (O’Connor), Seamie (O’Shea), Fionn (McDonagh) and Donie Vaughan, they are just five or six days away, so they are very close.

“The players will get back training and we’ll go again. The mileage and that kinda stuff, to me, isn’t an issue. We’ve a lot of new guys in there and we’re a lot of guys coming back from injuries so we’ll see how it pans out.”
