Keith Higgins is reserving judgement on whether or not Mayo’s league success is a monkey off their back.
The Connacht men brought their losing Croke Park final sequence to an end last Sunday and finally got to experience the feeling of climbing the steps of the Hogan Stand to pick up silverware.
Speaking to the Irish Daily Star, 34-year-old Higgins pointed out that championship football is a different story.
“You’d probably like to say we can kick on from that. So, that’s what we’ll be hoping for.
“But look, everyone knows there’s a huge difference between playing a League final and playing in a (All-Ireland) quarter-final, semi-final of the championship.
“Time will tell whether it is or not (a monkey off the back). I don’t know to be quite honest. You’d probably like to say it is.”
