Minor Team Match Result:

O’Raghallaighs 1-11, Dreadnots 2-12

The north roaders travelled to the coast to take on the favourite for the league in their own back yard in this Division 2 minor match and put up an outstanding performance. In their first match of the season, they started slowly with a lot of handling errors but their work rate couldn't be questioned. They put a lot of pressure on the home team’s shooting thus forcing a lot of wides. At half time they trailed by 7 points with only 2 scores from Kyle McElroy and another from Ciaran Kinsella on the board.

The hoops came out in the second half a different team and got on top of their hosts. Scores quickly followed from McElroy (3) Kinsella , Lee Grifferty, Tony Smith as well as two from Connel Rice with his left foot. Yes folks, miracles do happen. They continued their dominance when McElroy nicked the ball from the home keeper and smashed it to the net. At this point, the visitors were on top with a solid base from Dylan Lynch and Ronan Collins who were rock solid.

They were ably supported by Aaron Lawlor and Tony Smith who worked tirelessly in midfield, and Ewan Sweeney and Ciaran Kinsella were also prominent. Dylan Curran in goals was excellent. The visitors lost Andrew Collier to injury and alas they were unable to hang on against a much more physical team. A lot to work with next up is a home game against the Blues on Monday week at home.

Team: Dylan Curran, James Smith, Dylan Lynch, Ryan Brodigan, Andrew Collier, Ronan Collins, Ewan Sweeney, Tony Smith (0-1) Aaron Lawlor, Ciaran Kinsella (0-2), Kyle McElroy (1-5), Nathan Cassidy, Ben Moonan, Connel Rice (0-2), Conor McKenna, Lee Grifferty (0-1), Oliver Clutterbuck, Rory O’Neill
