U16 Match Report

O’Raghallaighs 5-09, Dundalk Gaels / Clan na Gael 0-03

 

Our U16’s started their Division 1 League campaign with a well deserved victory over the Gaels / Clans amalgamation in Dundalk on a breezy but sunny Sunday morning.

Missing a number of regulars through injury and other commitments, the O’Raghallaighs fielded with just 14 players. This gave an opportunity for some of the younger members of the squad to get some valuable game time and stake a claim for a regular starting place. The game also saw the welcome return of Oliver Clutterbuck after a long term injury.

 

Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half prompted a hard working performance from the team to lead 2-04 to 0-03 at the break.

The team continued the second half in the same vein and kept their opponents scoreless for the full 30 minutes, running out 5-09 to 0-03 winners. They are out again next Sunday morning at home at 11.00am.

Upcoming Fixtures

On Sunday, our Senior team continue their Paddy Sheelan Cup campaign away from home against Glyde Rangers. Throw in is at 11.00am. All support welcome.

 

Our U16 team face off against a combined St Kevins / Dreadnots side this Sunday. Throw in is at 11.00am at home.

 

LipSync Battle

There are still spots available for acts in our "Lip Sync Battle", taking place on the 5th May. If you think you, or anybody you know, have what it takes to be the winning act, pop into the clubhouse bar or ring 041 983 7132 for more details.

 

Rehearsals will be approx. 20 minutes per week, and will begin in late March.

 

Ladies Team Fundraiser

The O’Raghallaighs / Oliver Plunketts ladies team are hosting a fundraising table quiz  on Friday 1st March in the clubhouse bar at 8.30pm.  Entry fee is €40 for a table of 4.

 

Mass of Remembrance

The club’s annual Mass of Remembrance will take place in the clubhouse on Friday 15th March, at 8.00pm.
