Marlowe, Jim

Jim Marlowe There was widespread sorrow at the news of the untimely death of Jim Marlowe, Derraghawn and late of Foigha. Jim had been in failing health for some time past, yet his death came as a shock to all who knew him. Jim was second of a large family reared in Foigha. He was a very keen follower of Gaelic Games having played for Kenagh at all age levels during the nineteen fifties and sixties. He played with distinction in many positions alongside his brothers who contributed so much to Kenagh Football Club. In his later years he was a great follower of traditional music and was highly skilled in set dancing and square dancing. He travelled far an wide to where ever Irish dancing was practiced and made many friends from his favourite pursuit. He was a very popular man in the Kenagh Derrahawn locality where he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. To his wife Mary, sons James and David, daughters Shirley and Maria, brothers Michael, Pat, Joe and Johnny, sisters Maureen and Kitty and a large circle of friends we offer our sincere sympathy.
