Colmcille Minor GAA Club Notes
April 22, 2013
Things have been very busy on the playing field over the past couple of weeks with varying fortunes.
Schoolboy Championship: The Schoolboys are well into their championship campaign. In the past 2 weeks they have played 3 games.
Firstly beating Gaelscoil before going down in a tight game with Colehill. Last week they bounced backed in great fashion by overcoming
Fermoyle (the league Champions) in a tight game on a scoreline of 2.12 to 5.02
U14 League: The Under U14s have had mixed fortunes in the very competitive Division 1.
After an initial heavy defeat to Longford Slahers they bounced back with an equally convincing victory over Clonguish before being beaten 5.09 to 7.09 in a tight encounter with Killoe last week. Games continue this week.
U16 League: The U16s have had 2 games so far in Division 1 league. In their first game they were beaten by Killoe but last week had a great win in a highly
entertaining game with Northern Gaels. The league continues this week.
Minor: The minors played WolfeTones in their second game in the special minor league and had a good 9 point victory leaving them on
top of their group.
Training continues this week for all age groups from Under 6 to Minor and congratulations to the 6 coaches who did the foundation
level coaching course with Longford Co. Board over the past couple of weeks. Indeed half the total participants on the course
were from Colmcille so many thanks to all those for giving up their time to participate.
