Dromard Ladies Club Notes

County Matters: Hard luck to the Longford Senior Panel on going down to a goal scored in added time at Mostrim Grounds on Sat last. Trailing by 8 points at the interval, the girls made a storming comeback to draw level on the hour before finally succumbing 2-10 to 3-10. If that never say die attitude can be taken forward for next Sunday against Sligo in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, throw in at 2pm, we in Dromard think there will be a much different outcome. Good Luck to all involved.

Senor Training: Continues this week with Gym sessions on Tuesday at 7pm and out on the Astro on Sundays at 11.45am. It's great to see so many of our Minors and U/16s togging out, but there are still a few faces missing who we know would benefit immensely by taking part, so lets get the word out to them and tell them what they are missing.

Clash if the Townlands: This annual Quiz event run by the Mens Senior Club is this Friday 8th in the Breffni Arms at 9pm sharp. 10 Euro per head on a table of 6. Please support the Men's club in this fundraiser, and if you are not on a Townlands table why not set up an all girls table? The organisers will always find you a table so if you come on your own you will still have an enjoyable night.

Congratulations: To our very own Ellen Murphy who was sprung from the bench on the hour mark in the Aviva Stadium to make her debut in the Six Nations Rugby against England. Not the result she would have wanted but we wish her better luck next weekend as the Irish Team head to Scotland for their second match

Mock Exams: Good Luck to all our Junior and Leaving Cert girls as they get a taste of what awaits them come the summer. We hope it all goes well for you Ladies.

Birthdays: Two birthdays to celebrate this week. Firstly for Sarah Murphy on Saturday who turns out for our Minor and Senior Panels. She will be 17. Then for Mairead Reynolds from our Senior Panel whose birthday falls on Tuesday. Happy Birthday girls from all in Dromard Ladies.
