Division 1 League: Commiserations to our senior team who lost out narrowly to Longford Slashers on Easter Sunday. In a low-scoring game, Dromard contested well and won plenty of possession but struggled to convert their scoring chances. The visitors got the perfect start with a goal after 10 minutes but Dromard responded with points from Joseph Hagan and two from James Martin (from play and a free). At half-time, the scoreline read Dromard 0-3 Longford Slashers 1-01. Despite working hard in the second half and creating some chances, Dromard struggled to add to their scoring tally. Francis McGee scored two good points but the visitors finished the game strongly to claim the win. Team: Sean McNerney; Niall Vance, Peter Masterson, James Mimnagh; Peter Reynolds, John Sheridan, Dylan McCormack; Diarmuid Masterson, Bernard Sheridan; Bryan McCormack; Ronan McEntire, James Martin; Joseph Hagan, Francis McGee, Pauric Martin. Dromard Ladies Club Notes

County Matters: Smiles all round this week. Our Senior Panel held Offaly in a high scoring draw and following a concession by Leitrim in the last match retained their Division 3 status for another year. Congratulations to Paddy Dowd and his management team, and especially our own players Mairead Reynolds, Sarah Reynolds, and Cait Murphy in sticking together in the face of adversity. You will have learned a lot about each other to take forward to next year's campaign and can now look forward to the Leinster Championship later in the year. The U/16 Panel got their season under way with a comprehensive victory against Carlow at home. Well done to all involved especially our own Shauna Hagan and Karen McLoughlin.

But pride of place this week should go to the U/14 Panel involving Louise Tierney and Kate McEntire from Dromard, who journeyed up to Blanchardstown on a rainy, windswept Thursday night and beat the Dubs by 2 points, never an easy task, especially in their own backyard. Well done to all involved. Two matches down for decision this weekend. Saturday the Minor Panel host Wicklow, while on Sunday the U/16 Panel make the reverse journey to play Wicklow away. Good Luck to both Panels.

Results: Our Senior Panel made the short hop over to Clonguish on Saturday last, only to be defeated in the Gold Cup, whilst the U/12 Panel will have hosted Colmcille on Monday last, and the U/16 Panel will have played away to St. Helen's on Tuesday. Reports next week.

Easter Egg Draw: This was made on Easter Sunday under the watchful eye of Senior Players Cian and Peter Mimnagh and our Gateman John Joe Donohue. Thanks to everybody who bought tickets, your support for Ladies football in Dromard is massive and we cannot thank you enough. The 2 lucky winners of the huge Torc Eggs were Peter Reynolds, Garvary and Aidan McCarron our Senior Men's trainer.

Birthday Greetings: This week to Aine Smith who plays on our Minor and Senior Panel as well as commuting down from her college in Dublin. Happy 18th to you on Friday,Aine from all your teammates
