Longford manager Denis Connerton has admitted that it he is unsure of when talented forward Sean McCormack will be back in action.

A quad injury sustained in the early rounds of the NFL 3 campaign forced McCormack to watch from the sidelines as Longford's promotion hopes were finally dashed in the last round by Fermanagh.

It was expected that McCormack would be back in action before the end of the league, but Connerton admitted to the Longford Leader that he is unsure when his talismanic forward will return as they prepare for the Leinster SFC opener against Meath at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

"It could be a little bit longer before we have Sean back. We are waiting to meet with a specialist and then we will know the extent of it," stated Connerton.

"Mickey Quinn (got married) and Sean were massive losses. In fairness we had a good squad effort right throughout the league and all the hard work that was put in has been immense."
