Rathnew club notes

April 15, 2019

Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name has nothing to do with our club is not run by anyone in our club.

With the season started for all teams any club gear can be bought on the Rathnew shop on the O'Neill's website or just follow the link on our Facebook page. We also have a few jerseys for sale with details on our Facebook page.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 8th April. Numbers 7, 11, 25, 27. We had 4 match 3's Amanda Dignam, Valerie Malone, April Dickenson, Hazel Doyle. At the time of writing the jackpot stands at €10,300. Get your tickets from Doyle's, The Arches, The Village Inn, Rockies, Healy's Mini Market, View hair & beauty, Malone's, Dowling's Butchers and Centra every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm. Thanks to everyone who supports our lotto.

Membership is now well over due. It is vital that all adult and juveniles pay their membership or they are not covered if injured. If no effort is made to pay then they will be unable to train or play. Contact the team coaches for membership details.

The 2019 Kellogg's cul camp dates have been released. Rathnew will be hosting it the week starting the 12th of August. It's always a brilliant week for the kids so book early on kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie or follow the link on our Facebook page.

The fundraising committee are holding a poker classic in Doyle's on Good Friday 19th April. €20 entry with unlimited €10 buy-ins and resale at the interval. Also the Easter raffle will take place. All sponsor cards need to returned to coaches this week.

The nursery is back on Saturday mornings at 11.15am. It is for all kids aged 3 upwards. Contact James Stafford 0833193238 for more details. The under 8s had a brilliant day playing in Croke Park on Saturday. Hopefully it's not the last time they play in Croker. Thanks to Rooster, Tommy, Barry, Mark, Ronan, Rosie and all the parents for their help on the day.

Well done to the under 12 girls who beat Dunlavin away while the under 10 team had their first blitz on Saturday and did brilliant. The ladies team had a excellent week with two wins from two. They beat Cuala on Wednesday in a friendly and beat Kilbride in the league on Sunday for their first ever league victory. All the hard work from team and management is paying off and hopefully will continue. Hard luck to Anna Dignam and the county u14 team and management on losing the Leinster final on Friday night.

A good win for senior team against neighbours St. Pats on Thursday night. The Junior B team start their league campaign against Newtown away at 7pm on Thursday. The intermediates are playing Baltinglass at home on Saturday at 4pm. The two under 11 teams are playing against St. Pats and Blessington at home on Wednesday at 6.45pm while the under 15s are away to Eire Og at 7pm.
