Foley, Tom

The Late Tom Foley Parishioners were saddened to hear of the death of Tom Foley,late of "Woodlands", Rich Hill, Lisnagry, Co. Limerick, formerly of Loughtea, Portroe, who died, peacefully on July 5th, at his home. Tom who ran his own vegetable business, until his retirement was a very popular member of the community and most particularly by the youth of the parish. He was very much involved in Ahane GAA Club's underage teams for many years - training and transporting them to the various matches all over the county - distance was no object to Tom - he freely gave of his time and effort doing trojan work for the club's future senior players, and generating great team spirit in those young teams. This gentle soul will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Kathleen, sons, Michael and John; daughters, Geraldine and Caroline; sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and his many friends. His remains were removed form his home to Ahane Church and burial took place after Requiem Mass in Mount Laurence Cemetery. Courtesy of the Limerick Leader 16th July 2005
