The Late Matt Dillon
It was with sadness that the district learned of the death of Matt Dillon after a short illness.
The late Matt came here from Kerry in the early 60's and from early on made himself available to the various committees, GAA, Community Council. It was with the Community Council he made his mark in the 80's when the shrine was erected.
He always followed Kerry in the football and loved a game of cards. He is survived by his son Sean, daughter Kate, daughter-in-law Valerie, grandchildren Shauna, Rebecca, Ava and Euan, brothers Fr. Paul, Pat, Kevin, sisters Celia, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
There was a large crowd at the removal from his home to St. John the Baptist Church, Croagh and at the burial in the new graveyard in Croagh. The Community Council formed a Guard of Honour.
