Results from Last Week

U16 Football 3rd round

Last Monday we travelled to Crecora for our third and final match before the break for the exams. We had a few injuries which made our panel tighter, but this is the strength of the panel to continue to field a competitive team. We expected a strong challenge as Kilpeacon beat Galbally in their previous round match. However on the night the challenge did not materialise from our opposition and we ran away with a very one sided result. We held them to two points in the first half and only one in the second. On the flip side we were ruthless and finished scoring 6 17 in the match. Well done to goalie, defence, midfield, forwards and subs; a great team effort. Interesting on the night we had 9 different scorers which is great to see. So boys ye could do no more, 3 wins out of our three opening games….so now back to the books as we take a break from matches until after Junior cert. We will continue to train once a week and we will start the weekend after the bank holiday weekend. So boys thanks very much and best of luck with the books….every bit as important as the ball!!!

U16 Hurling 1st Round

Last weekend we played what is our only game before the junior cert. Numbers are tight so thanks to a number of the U14's who helped make up the panel last weekend. We did well and at stages fought our way back to one point behind and then 3 points behind. However our opposition Glenroe were just too strong and pushed on strongly in the last 5 minutes to win the game. So boys, plenty to play for and training will continue between here and out next match which will be after the exams.

U15 Football

We travelled to Ballingarry last Friday and unfortunately we did not get the result that we are capable off. We lost the game by a cruel last minute goal but really it should have been put away long before the last 5 minutes. As the say sport is cruel but we have a long year left. Crucial now will be training to work on the areas we need to improve in and to win our next game. Hard luck boys and lets focus on the next match.
