Eileen Carmody U14 Blitz:

The annual Eileen Carmody U14 Inter-County Camogie Blitz took place on Saturday in Killedy and Ballyagran. Limerick fielded two teams.

The Limerick Green team played in Killeedy and won their first game against Tipperary by 3-5 to 2-3. They also won their second game against Clare by 0-7 to 1-1. The semi-final against Galway was a draw 1-3 to 1-3 at the end of allotted time but unfortunately after extra time Galway won 2-4 to 1-4. Galway went on to contest the A Final with Cork with the Leesiders running out winners.

The Limerick White team played in Ballyagran and won their first game against Clare, result by 2-0 to 1-2. They lost out to Cork by 1-2 to 0-1 in their next match but rallied to beat Clare in the semi-final by 4-2 to 0-2. In the final Cork were again to prove their nemesis winning by 1-3 to 0-0. Indeed it was to prove a good day for Cork as they completed a clean sweep of all four competitions on the day.

Limerick Camogie would like to thank Killeedy and Ballyagran for the use of their  pitches and facilities which were in excellent condition. In both venues games ran like clockwork really well organised with refreshments available in the clubhouse all day. Thanks to Olive Sheehan who was the co-ordinator on a super job and to Ger McNamara, Fiona Godfrey and Liz Cahill for all their help and to the parents of the players for providing all the refreshments and the fine support for the teams.
