Juniors aim to set the tone
May 24, 2013
Limerick junior footballers will be aiming for a good start to the action at the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday evening when they take on Cork in the Munster JFC.
The match is the curtainraiser to the meeting of the same two counties in the Munster senior football championship.
Limerick are backboned by ten members of the county's under-21 panel, but manager Tom McGlinchey pointed out that there is a good mix of experience in the side also.
Speaking to the Limerick Leader he said: "While the majority of the panel are under-21 there is also a nice blend of experience throughout the panel with former senior players Shane Gallagher, Garret Noonan, Eoin Fitzgibbon, Kieran O'Callaghan and John Mullane on the panel.
"We have kept faith with a large quantity of the under-21 panel so as to keep a level of continuity going between the two panels with the objective that some of these players will eventually move onto play senior some day."
