Junior Hurling
On Friday night last we played Mungret in Mungret and after a solid team performance we came with a satisfactory victory on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-12. This victory should ensure our further participation in this competition. Training continues on Monday nights at 7 pm for our hurlers and Wednesday nights for our senior footballers.
Minor Football
On Thursday night last we took on Kilpeacon in the third round of the city minor football championship. After a very tight game in very difficult conditions we were unfortunate to lose by one point. The final scoreline was 2-09 to 2-08.This is our second loss in this competition and we cannot afford any more defeats if we are to reach the latter stages. There is a break now for the exams, and hopefully we will come back rejuvenated for the next stage.
Ladies Football
This weekend gone was a busy one for the underage girls as our U14 played in their semi final against Fr Casey's. Unfortunately the girls from Abbeyfeale proved too strong for our girls, who even though they lost now proceed to the shield in a couple weeks time. Aoife Hogan's U12 girls took on Ahane last Friday night and after an entertaining game both teams finished level. They also are through to the semi final of their competition which will take place in the next few weeks
Congratulations to Caoimhe Sheehan, Stephanie Noonan and Nicole Bennet who were part of the Limerick girls U14 team who reached the semi final of the All Ireland blitz held last weekend.
U12 Football
Well done to our U12 footballers, ably marshalled by Ann Mullins, who travelled to Oola last Thursday night and came away with a very good victory. This team is going very well at the moment and great credit to Ann and her management team.
U14 Hurling
Preparations are ongoing for the Feile, and last weekend our U14 hurlers travelled to Portroe in Tipperary for a challenge. This was a very enjoyable game and our lads acquitted themselves very well. We came away with a good victory on a scoreline of 4-06 to 3-03. Many thanks to Portroe for their hospitality on the day and to all the parents who travelled to support the young lads.
Congratulations
We had two winners in the Limerick GAA club draw recently. Congratulations to Mark Devereaux and Martin Tobin who won €2000 and to Liam Woods who won €500
Commiserations
Former club member Billy Ryan passed away recently and the club would like to extend its sympathy to his family. Billy originally from Corbally was part of the double winning side of 1963 and was also on the U21 hurling winning side of 1965. He later moved to Cappamore where he was heavily involved with the underage there.
