West Junior A Hurling League.
We played the last group stage game on the West Junior-A Hurling league against Croagh-Kilfinny in Croagh last Wednesday night. On the night, we showed much improvement on previous games and put in a very credible performance which augers well for the Championship. We were defeated on a final score of Croagh-Kilfinny 3-13 St-Mary's 2-11, but the performance was exactly what management were looking for with the first round of the championship just around the corner.
West Junior-A Hurling Championship
The St Mary's campaign in the 2012 Junior Hurling championship got underway last weekend when we travelled to Feenagh to play Kileedy in the opening round on Saturday evening. It was a fine bright evening for hurling, with Billy Philips of Tournafulla as referee. St Marys, picking up on the momentum gained at the league match in Croagh, led from start to finish and never really looked in danger. We led 1-09 to 0-03 at half time and eventually ran out winners on a final score of 3-18 to 2-09.
