St. Patrick's GAA Club Notes

Our Girls football team went back training last Saturday evening at 3pm it was great to see a large turnout for the first session. Membership for the ladies football is at €25 and each Girl will have to pay their membership to cover their insurance membership can be paid to Peter Sheehan training for Girls aged 12 up to 16 years will continue on this Saturday at a new time of 4pm in St. Patrick's field and all are welcome to attend. It's that time again for all playing members, adults and underage, supporters and former club members to pay your club membership and is once again its due with Family membership @ €60, Adults @ €40, Minor & Students €25 and at O.A.P. @ €10. Closing date for membership is March 31st and it is vital that all playing members of the club to pay their membership before the playing season starts. Please contact club secretary Eamonn Phelan or Club Treasurer Jack Sheehan as soon as you can to pay your membership for 2012. Once again the club will be selling the Limerick G.A.A. club draw for 2012 Membership for this draw is €10 per draw or €100 per year the club benefits greatly from this draw and if you want to be part of the draw please contact club secretary Eamonn Phelan at 0872807546 to join. All our adult players are now back in training on Wednesday evenings when the players will go through circuit training at U.L. between 7pm and 8pm. Our minor hurlers who are back training in over a week and played a challenge game last Saturday evening our minors who now will go under as Shamrocks Gaels for this year's county premier championship as we have our team and Old Christians joining forces at minor hurling for this year the management team were delighted with the workout and even though we were short a few players on the day Murroe/Boher got the better of us on the day training will continue for our minors on this Thursday evening at Rhebogue. On this Saturday our minor hurlers will be taking part of the County minor hurling blitz at Ahane where games will at ten minutes a side and we could on a group of four. Training for the underage will continue this weekend when our under 14 hurling team will continue on this Saturday 18th at 4pm in the Rhebogue pitch. Training for our under 12 hurling panel continues this Saturday 18th at 3pm in the Rhebogue pitch. If you are born in 2000 or 2001 then you are under 12 for this season and are welcome to come along. New players are always welcome. Indoors underage hurling training for our under 6, 8 and under 10s continues this Friday 10th in CBS hall Sexton Street. Under 6 and under 8 training is on from 7.30pm to 8.15pm while the under 10 training is on from 8.15pm to 9pm everyone is welcome to come along. The club was sad to hear of the death of Tom Pigott R.I.P.
Tom was a member of St. Patrick's under 21 hurling and football team that won the County double when the club won both county under 21 championships in 1965 in that year we defeated Caherline in the County hurling final by 10-11 to 4-03 and in the County football final we defeated Newcastle West by 1-08 to 0-03 our panel of players at under 21 bach in 1965 were Tom O Sullivan, Pa O Brien, Tommy Canty, Wally Moloney, Willie Cusack, John Frost, John Griffin, Tom Barry Tom Pigott, Vincent Phelan, Pat O Doherty, Ned O Donnell, Kevin O Connor, Donie Russell, Brien Cobbe, Joe Collins, Richard O Connor, Michael Collopy (football Captain), Brendan Crosse (hurling Captain), Tom O Brien, Gerry O Brien, John Moloney, Billy Ryan and Brian Hogan.
