Junior A Hurling Championship
The Junior Hurlers set out on their opening journey of this year's championship on Friday last 10th June. We travelled to Feenagh and played St. Kieran's in a competitive game with Seanie Hartnett as the man in the middle. On the night St. Kieran's team who were finalists in the 2010 Junior-A County Championship, were marginally the better team and we came within 2 points of them. St. Mary's scored 1:11 while St. Kieran's scored 0:16. This was a marked improvement from last year's performance despite St. Mary's having a weakened team from last year. Hopefully the experience will prepare us for the next game on Friday 18th June when we will play against Feenagh/Kilmeedy at Ballingarry at 7.30pm. The other Round 2 game will take place simultaneously in the Bog Garden between Feoghanagh/Castlemahon and Tournafulla. Our Junior Hurlers are missing their 200-300 supporters from 2009 and wonder where have they gone? It is now more than ever that we need our supporters to get out of this group of death. We need our supporters back for Friday night in Ballingarry at 7.30pm for a must-win game. Your support can help us get over the line, come along if you can.
Junior Football Championship
Our opening football championship game is against Monagea on weekend of 25th June. Best wishes to all involved.
Under 14 Hurling
Our Under 14 Hurling game against Dromcollagher/Broadford scheduled for last Wednesday 8th June did not take place as there was no referee available on the night. This game will be re-fixed in the near future.
Under 14 Football League
Our Under 14 football team will play Ballybrown on Saturday at 4.30pm at home. Please note the change of this fixture which was to be played on Wed but has been changed to Saturday.
Under 13 Football, 13-a-side
Our under 13's had a football game on Monday 13th June at home against Croom. The team from Sean Finn's won this game with a very strong performance and a score of
8:05 while the visiting team scored 1:01. All the boys played very well and they remain undefeated in this competition. Well done to all involved as it was a great team effort. The panel was ;- Travis O Reilly, Mark Wilmott, Darragh Curtin, Adrian Brennan, Padraig Power, George Mulcahy, Darragh O'Grady, Barry Coleman, Brian Keating, Josh O Conner, Eoin Kelly, Seamus Keating, Aaron Hogan, Jack Fahey and Eoin Sheehan.

Under 12 Hurling League
The Under 12 Hurling team played Blackrock in Kilfinane on Thursday last 9th June. Blackrock got off to a good start getting two early goals but our team settled and replied with some well taken points and a goal making it 1:3 to 2:2 at half time. The 2nd half was close and exciting with Blackrock getting 4 points while we got 1:2. At the final whistle St. Mary's had scored 2:05 while Blackrock had 2:06. Well done to the following team members: Eoin Kelly, Sean Molone, Mark Wilmott, Eoin Sheahan, Padraig Power, Colin Fitzgerald, Brian Keating, (1.3) Barry Coleman, Aaron Hogan, Sean Byrnes (1.2), David O Donnell and Conor Glynn.
Under 12 Football
The next Under 12 Football Game is scheduled for 6.45pm on tomorrow Thursday 16th June when we will host Gerald Griffin's at home.
Under 8 Hurling Blitz
On Friday June the 10th the under 8 hurlers travelled to Kildimo to take part in a blitz involving Kildimo, Ballinacurra and Ballingarry. We had fourteen players taking part and all tried their best. Unfortunately goals were hard to come by on the day and we were very unlucky with a number of shots coming off the post or just inches wide in all three games. Playing for Rathkeale were Ashling Dalton, Ryan Stapleton, James Keating, Danny Dunne, Sammy Quilligan, Luke Johnson, Michael Sheahan, Philip Brennan, Jake Enright, Seán Mulcahy, Dan Quilligan, Niall Sheahan, Neil Teskey and Michael Sheahan. Well done to all who gave such a sporting performance.
"Last-One- Standing"
We had our third round of the Club's fundraiser "Last-Man-Standing" at the weekend. Thanks to all those who entered the fundraiser and hopefully you all backed a winner last week. For the third round any participants had to choose one team to win from the following two matches: Wexford V Westmeath, (football) and Limerick V Waterford, (Hurling). Those who chose a winning team will receive a text again this week to predict another winning team. With so many going against their native county in the last two weeks it's still all to play for. Things will start to get a bit tougher now as the provincial first round matches are finished with. Those who chose a winning team will receive a text this week to predict a winner from Armagh v Derry (football) or Galway V Dublin (hurling).
