The Late Nigel Bucke

Broadford father-of-three Nigel Bucke, who died following a fatal road crash outside Limerick city, was the second member of his family to die in tragic circumstances this decade.
The 29 year old died of his injuries when the car which was driving collided with an articulated truck on Condell Road.
His three children, Amy, Ellie and Robert, who are between the ages of two and 11, were in the car with him and received minor injuries.
In April 2001, Mr Bucke's younger brother, Gary collapsed and died of a heart attack while training with Feohanagh/Castlemahon GAA Club. Nigel Bucke was his younger brother's side when he died.
Mourners at Mr Bucke's funeral Mass in Broadford heard that he was a devoted son, brother, father and partner, and was "loving and full of life".
"It is a tragedy that someone so young has been taken from us," said Canon James Ambrose chief celebrant.
"Death, once again, has visited a loving family and a good community to take someone special. Life is such an adventure, with infinite possibilities, yet it is so fragile," he said.
Mr Bucke was a native of Broadford by was living at Carraward, Dromcollogher, with his long-term partner, Theresa Downes, and their three children.
A welder by trade, he was the starting goalkeeper with Feohanagh/Castlemahon football team and was an active member of Broadford soccer club. Representatives of both clubs formed a guard of honour for Mr Bucke's remains outside the church, while a blue, white and maroon flag of the clubs' combined colours was draped over his coffin.
He was buried that afternoon beside the grave of his brother in Springfield cemetery in Broadford.
"With Nigel's family, we remember him alive, tall, loving and full of life," Fr Ambrose told mourners.
"He came from a loving house, full of family mementos and symbols of faith.
"Nigel called to his parents practically every day, particularly since their young son died, just to check and see what he could do. He was a very skilled, gifted man."
Mr Bucke was critically injured in the crash and was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Mid Western Regional Hospital. It is understood that his family decided to turn off his life support machine on Saturday once one of his brothers had flown home from Australia to be by his bedside.
Mr Bucke's family also agreed to allow his organs to be donated.
