The Limerick team to face Cork in Sunday's Munster SHC semi-final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh includes no fewer than nine championship debutants.

Manager Justin McCarthy has been only able to call on three of the team that started last August's All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Tipperary due to last winter's dispute which resulted in most of last year's squad either being dropped or withdrawing their services. Full back Dave Breen, left half back Paul Browne and centre forward Paudie McNamara are the only survivors from the Tipp game.

Centre back and captain Bryan O'Sullivan and right half forward James O'Brien were both introduced as substitutes in Croke Park, while right corner forward Graeme Murphy was the other member of last year's panel.

Apart from Breen, O'Sullivan, Browne and McNamara, goalkeeper Tadhg Flynn is the only other player with senior championship experience, having lined out for Kerry against Cork in 2004.

The newcomers to championship hurling are corner backs Shane O'Neill and Kieran O'Rourke, right half back Shaun Riordan, who will be up against his Newtownshandrum club-mates Ben and Jerry O'Connor and Cathal Naughton, midfielders Tommy O'Brien and Andrew Brennan and attackers Sean Herlihy, Mulcahy, Anthony Owens and Richie McKeogh.
