Ahane club notes

Ahane Junior hurlers started off their 2010 season on Saturday last when they played Cappamore in the Brian Butler Cup. In a good, entertaining game Ahane were winners on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-11.

Presentation of medals will take place in the Clubhouse this Saturday night commencing at 8.30 p.m.to the following teams: Under 16 Football, winners of the County Premier Championship. Under 21 Hurling, winners of the East Under 21A Hurling Championship and Junior Hurling, winners of the 2008/2009 Brian Butler Cup. All welcome and light refreshments provided afterwards.

Everybody in Ahane would like to wish Tadgh Flynn a speedy recovery following injury in Limerick's game against Waterford last weekend.

Well done to Cormac Joyce Power, Eanna Kennedy and the Limerick Under 21 Football who defeated Clare in the opening round of the Munster Championship.

Best of luck to the Instrumental Music group and Figure Dancers in the Munster Senior Scor Final in Ballybunion on Sunday next. Anyone interested in travelling should contact Siobhan Hourigan for tickets.

Congratulations to Castletroy College whose 1st year team defeated Ard Scoil Ris in the final of the First Year Hurling competition on an impressive scoreline of 7-12 to 3-5. Ahane are very well represented on this team by the following players: Evan Enright, Ciaran O'Mara, Tom Morrissey, Paddy
Morrissey, Brian Reale, Patrick Minehan, Aaron Hackett, Shane Hackett, David Rowsome, Michael Fox, David Gray and Jack O'Brien.

Heartiest congratulations also to Ard Scoil Ris hurling team, their mentors and especially coach, Niall Moran, on their wonderful Harty Cup victory after 3 epic games against Thurles CBS.
