Mungret-St Pauls GAA Club Notes

March 10, 2010
There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot on 01/03/10.  The numbers drawn were 7-10-12-24.  The following were the lucky dip winners - M Toher, G Cleary, A McCoy, P Gallagher, B O'Shea, E & M Scales, Z Tobin, J Higgins, A O'Dea & B Hassett.

Our U14 footballers qualified for the County feile quarter final with 0-6 point wins over Adare and Pallasgreen on the past two weekends. Best of luck to the boys as they prepare for a quarter final with old rivals Galbally in three weeks time.  Our U14 hurlers start their campaign on Sunday morning at home to Tournafulla.

Our U8 and U10 footballers hosted Portlaoise for a blitz recently. The U-10's recorded a fine victory in the first of their four matches, but the physically stronger Portlaoise lads prevailed in the other three encounters. It was a tremendously exciting event for our U-8 team, many of whom were wearing the Mungret colours for the first time. They took on their opponents over three short matches, and while it would have to be said that Portlaoise had the edge in the early stages, our lads showed definite signs of improving towards the end. However, as the saying goes, the final whistle came too soon, and we eventually succumbed.  New members are always welcome, and contact details for all our underage hurling and football teams are available on our website at www.mungretstpauls.com

Ladies Football - Training continues for the underage members every Saturday morning U14 & U16s from 10am to 11am and U8 to U12 >from 11am until noon. For those who took lottery tickets last week, a reminder not to forget to return them on Saturday.  Well done to our county players at the weekend on the Limerick U14 panel Mairead Clancy, Fiona Mangan and Jennifer O Malley overcame Waterford in the Munster Championship, and in the Bord Gais National League Katie Campbell, Martina Giltenane, Yvette Moynihan and Catherine Murphy were part of the Limerick team that beat Kilkenny.
