St. Patrick's GAA Club Notes

Last Sunday the club started the underage Street League with over 40 of the clubs Under 10s and Under 12s Hurlers taking part it was great to see big numbers that showed up and a great day was had on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Garryowen the clubs future stars showed off the skills that promises to make St Patrick's future on the hurling field very bright. The street league Games will run for 3 weeks every Sunday and each child will receive a Hurley on completion of the league on the final day. A special mention must goes to the under 10 all Girls team that competed very strongly on the day. The street league continues next Sunday in Garryowen at the later time of 4 p.m and all players at the under 12 and under 10 grades are welcomed to play. Many thanks to Richard Phelan and Marcus Clancy for the tremendous work they did on repairing our pitch in Garryowen in time for our street league, our pitch got badly damaged recently by unwanted cars on the field and once again thanks to Richard and Marcus for their help. Off the field, the club has organized a hurling foundation level training course for Thursday 11th at 7p.m in the clubhouse. Current coaches and those that would like to coach in the future are encouraged to attend and help the process of strengthening St Patrick's underage teams. Our under 12, 14 and 16s Girls Gaelic Football team are now training in our Garryowen Pitch every Saturday evening at 2 p.m. While our under 14s hurling and Gaelic football teams will train at St Patricks GAA Pitch in Rhebogue on Sunday's at 2 p.m. Please Contact Peter Sheehan at 0856080512 for more information. Our uunder 6, 7 & 8s indoor Hurling training takes place at the CBS hall Sexton Street every Friday evenings at 7.30p.m while our under 9, 10, 11, 12 Hurling and Gaelic Football teams are at Patricks GAA Field in Rhebogue every Saturday evening at 4p.m for information on those act ivies please contact Chris Mortell at 0868068245. The Club is running a foundation level coaching course for hurling on this Thursday 11th of March at 7p.m at the Club house with the second session scheduled for Thursday 18th March at 7 p.m. The Club is trying to target existing coaches that have not completed the foundation level course and also trying to target any new coaches (minor and 21's etc ) that we feel would be interested in getting involved at underage  please contact A.S.A.P. Christopher Mortell at 0868068245. It's great to see all our adult team's senior & junior footballers Junior & Under 21 hurlers back on the field training for this coming season. Our senior footballers will open their all county league with a home game against Monaleen on March 30th. Our senior football championship will kick off on April 25th when we will face Ballysteen. In the City senior football championship we will face the winners of Mungret or Monaleen on May 29th in the semi final. Our under 21 hurling championship will start on April 20th with a game against Killulta Gaels, Our junior hurlers will start their All county league campaign on April 17th with a home game against Doon while in the City hurling league on May 18th with the opening game against Pallaskenry. Our minor hurlers will face South Liberties in their open championship game at Rhebogue on April 9th while our minor footballers will open their championship with a game against Na Piarsaigh on April 2nd It's that time again for all playing members, adults and underage, supporters and former club members. The club membership is once again due with Family membership at Eu50 Adults at Eu40 Minor & Students at Eu15 and O.A.P. at Eu10. Closing date for membership is March 31st and it is vital that all playing members to pay their membership before the playing season starts. Please contact club secretary Eamonn Phelan or Club Treasurer Jack Sheehan as soon as you can to pay your membership for 2010 there only three weeks left.
