No resolution in Limerick row
March 10, 2010
The Limerick county board last night said that it was ready to bring in a professional mediator to try and resolve the ongoing hurling crisis in the county.
At the scheduled meeting in Claughaun, the executive said that they would be willing to sit down with the players who are unwilling to play under county team manager Justin McCarthy
Chairman Liam Lenihan also responded to a statement released by players which said that exiled players from the 2009 panel had been put under pressure to return to the fold, by saying: "Neither I nor any member put pressure or put one player against another, or tried to influence clubs.
"It can only be sorted out by talking. The team management and the executive are available for talks, and I believe that we need a professional mediator."
Delegates didn't seemed to be satisfied though and said that either a change in management or support for McCarthy and his panel be the route pursued.
