Former Clare hurling star Ger 'Sparrow' O'Loughlin has stepped down as manager of Limerick senior hurling champions Adare. During his two years in charge, O'Loughlin led Adare to back-to-back Limerick SHC successes, and also guided them to a Munster club final appearance at the end of last year. Speaking at the club's annual dinner dance in Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel, the Clarecastle man said: "At this stage, winning county titles is grand but Adare are a team with the potential - as evident from their county wins at U-12, U-14 and U-16 last season - to take their place on the bigger stage, and by that I mean setting goals for themselves in terms of winning a Munster and All-Ireland championship. "With the right commitment and attitude, these targets are achievable." Adare expect to announce a new management team ahead of the start of the All-County Hurling League next month. Tweet
