Cian Lynch has revealed how a serious hamstring injury in 2022 threatened his hurling career.
The five-time All-Ireland SHC winner suffered a grade three tear in Limerick’s Munster SHC clash with Waterford which sidelined him for 10 weeks. He aggravated the injury last year, but has enjoyed an injury-free start to 2024.
"I think it was (career-threatening)," the two-time Hurler of the Year told RTÉ at the launch of Insomnia's five-year partnership with the GAA and GPA.
"I think it was something like grade three, grade three C or something. Yeah, initially it was. But sure if you take what you're told initially on everything, you'd be left with nothing.
"I suppose faith is a huge thing and having a bit of hope. Thank God I was able to get back going again."
