Galbally club notes

June 17, 2019

Galbally GAA hosted an Under 10 blitz on Saturday last when 50 different teams were provided with a multitude of games on a day that was hugely positive for the future of underage football. There were many significant contributions made by many individuals on the field, off the field and as referees, who shall remain nameless as there are too many to list, but Pat O’Byrne deserves special mention for organising and orchestrating the event. The positive feedback from the participating clubs speaks for itself and this annual event has a bright future.

Well done to John Kiely and Kieran Hickey on reaching the Munster Senior Hurling Final, albeit in muted circumstances following the defeat to arch rivals Tipperary in Semple Stadium Thurles. Such defeats are painful on border areas. James Cummins has been playing games of late with the Limerick Under 20 footballers, and Emma Morrissey, Anna Rose Kennedy and Caitlin Kennedy won a Munster Intermediate Football Championship at the weekend.

The latest Split the Pot winners were Margaret and Martina Hanrahan who were the lucky winners of €331. Next Draw Saturday 22nd June in O’Connell’s Bar, Galbally.
