Kelly, Mary O'Brien

May 20, 2005
The Late Mary O'Brien Kelly It was with deep sadness and shock that we learned of the sudden and untimely passing of our dear friend Mary. Almost 11 years ago this June, Mary and her family moved to Cloone, where she would go on to become a popular and much loved person. Through her daughters Louise and Aoife's participation in the Ladies football team. Mary made many friends who all reorganised her organisational skills which made her a popular choice as Secretary of the club. Mary's diligence and behind the scenes work was immense and was key to the club winning the County Senior Championship in 2002. Whilst most of Mary's work went unnoticed, this was a day that gave her great fulfilment and left her with many treasured memories. Mary was a kind, compassionate and loving woman which was manifested in her daily work caring for those in need in our parish. Mary's kind and caring was aided these people greatly in their daily lives and no doubt will be greatly missed by them all. While Mary's loss to her friends and clubmates will be huge, the loss of her family will be immeasurable. Mary's dedication and support to her family was almost foremost in her mind which in clearly portrayed in her family. Although Mary's time with us was short, we can look back with fondness and affection on the many happy memories she was left us. On behalf of Cloone Ladies GAA, I would like to say it was an honour and a privilege to known you Mary, your presence among us will never be forgotten. To George, Louise, Aoife and Zach, family we extend our deepest sympathises. May she rest in peace. Courtesy of the Leitrim Observer 20th May 2005
