McCrann, Gerry

September 06, 2013
The parish of Mohill was plunged into deep sadness with news of the untimely death of Gerry McCrann, O'Carolan Court, Mohill last weekend. In his youth, Gerry was a very gifted and talented footballer accumulating a glittering array of trophies and medals playing for his beloved Mohill GAA Club and Marian College, Mohill. Possessing great skill, strength, speed, stamina and starring in the half back line, Gerry was the rock on which many an opposing attack floundered. Gerry won County Championships at Under 12 and Under 14. He was a member of the club Under 16 team which won a record-breaking four in a row championships 1981 to 1984. He was also a member of the club minor team which won championships and four in a row league titles 1983 to 1986. Gerry also played on the first Marian College team to win a Connacht Championship and Com, Breffni Finals. Thanks, Gerry for the many sporting memories. To his wife Angela, children Joanne, Mark, Peter, Gerald, Jenny, mother Peggy , sisters Anne, Mary, Marie, brothers John and Martin and their extended families, you have our deepest sympathy. "Along the road to yesterday that leads me straight to you are memories of happy days together we once knew." May you rest in peace.
