Vicarstown mourns Tom Gorman

There was a deep sense of sadness in Vicarstown and the surrounding areas last weekend with the news of Tom Gorman's death after a short illness.
Tom, who was 81 and was known far and wide through his haulage business, was a renowned GAA man, and was president of the local Annanough GAA club.

He played with Laois and Annanough with great distinction in the 1950s, winning Laois senior championships with his club in 1951 and 1956, an intermediate championship in 1950 and was also on the Laois team that reached the Leinster final in1951. He was given a lifetime achievement award by Annanough in 2011. Tom is pre-deceased by his wife and survived by his daughters Mary, Francis, Rita, Phil and son John.
