Leinster MHC: Wexford comfortably see off Laois

Wexford minor hurlers eased their way into the Leinster MHC final with a 1-24 to 1-10 win over Laois at Wexford Park on Sunday afternoon.

Martin Storey's Model County men held a 1-9 to 1-5 lead at half time. Conor McDonald got the Wexford goal given them a 1-5 to 0-2 advantage but Laois fought back with a goal of their own through corner forward Aaron Moore.

Two P J Scully frees before the half time whistle had sounded put the Laois men right back into contention.

After the restart both sides enjoyed their share of possession but Wexford appeared to up a gear in the final quarter as they stretched their advantage with scores from McDonald, Kevin Foley, Jack O'Connor and Kevin Ryan.

They will now meet provincial holders Dublin in the Leinster MHC final on July 8th.
