Galway ladies look to continue unbeaten run

February 18, 2010
The Galway ladies look to continue their unbeaten start to 2010 as they play their first home game of the season against Tyrone at 2pm in Mountbellew on Sunday 21st.

Following a narrow win against Kerry and sharing the spoils with Dublin last week, manager Gay O'Brien will be hoping that players such as Una Carroll, Tina Hughes, Julie-Ann Russell and Lorna Joyce continue their good form.

Sinead Burke should also be available again after missing the Dublin clash along with Sarah Noone.

Despite reports last week, the Galway ladies did not have to sing for their supper and thoroughly deserved to share the spoils with the Jackeens in Portmarnock last Sunday, where it finished Dublin 1-09 Galway 2-06.

But now all eyes are on recording what would be an important victory over Ulster counterparts Tyrone, in order to cement a place in the top four of Division One.

Following the Tyrone game intense training and preparation will continue during the two-week break in games, after which the Connacht champions head south to take on the Rebelettes in Cork.
