The phenomenal fundraising ability of the Do It For Dan campaign has been shown by an Offaly jersey helping to raise a four figure sum.
The GAA community and further afield has rallied around young Dan Donagher and his family as they look to raise €2m to receive life saving treatment in America.
Cubs, counties and individuals are all running fundraisers and the overall figure passed €1.5m on Thursday.
Offaly footballer David Dempsey is an example of the on the ground effort that is currently underway.
“ I decided to donate a jersey of mine which I wore in last year's football championship,” explained David.
“My intention is to award this jersey which has more than 40 signatures from a range of senior men and ladies county stars in football and hurling across the country to a lucky donator.
“One of them will be in with a chance of winning this jersey and all they have to do is donate a minimum of €5 but as much as they can.
“It doesn’t matter how much or how little they donate as I am aware times are tough. Each person will have an equal chance of winning.”
