Kildare GAA has sent its best wishes to Emer Fogarty who is representing the Lilywhites in the Rose of Tralee.

"Emer is a fantastic ambassador for our county," a county board statement read. The 24-year-old, who has a degree in Psychology from NUI Galway and works as an Organisational Psychologist in Version 1, an IT Consultancy firm based in Dublin, has played ladies football for her club St Laurence's, NUI Galway and Kildare.

The highlight of her sporting career was winning an All-Ireland intermediate medal in 2016 when she came off the bench in Kildare's 1-13 to 1-12 victory over Clare at Croke Park.

Emer is a sister of former Kildare footballer Padraig Fogarty and a niece of the great Johnny Doyle.
