Watch two brave blocks right at the start of this video from Donegal's Lidl NFL game with All Ireland champions Dublin on Sunday and you'll see why Karen Guthrie is the new captain of her county. 

The Glenfin midfielder led by example by diving into challenges despite the tough conditions and the quality of the opposition. 

"The one thing the managers asked for was to work as hard as we can for as long as you can, and the girls were super, particularly in the second-half," says Karen. 

Dublin won by 2-5 to 0-7 but Donegal's new captain and new managers were keen to stress the positives. Next up, Donegal host Galway and Dublin take on Westmeath.
