Duggan, Thomas

The late Thomas Duggan Thomas duggan was a native of Booleyglass, Hugginstown. He was the seventh son of Patrick and Margaret Duggan of Booleyglass. Thomas was an outstanding young hurler - school league with Aughaviller and minor hurling with Moonrue. He also played with CBS in Carrick-On-Suir, where he went to school for a number of years. He went to live with his cousins, the Kavanaghs, in Kilmashane, Inistioge, at an early age. In later years he worked in Clover Meats in Ferrybank. He came back and hurled with Hugginstown senior team for a number of years. He ended his hurling days playing with his adopted Inistioge. He was predeceased by his brother Fr Patrick Duggan, Willie Duggan, Mullinabeg, James, Michael and John Duggan Booleyglass and Nicholas Duggan Ballinreskin. He is survived by his sister Stasia Power, Condonstown and a large number of nephews and nieces. His funeral was to Inistioge Church on September 14, 2006 and he was interred in Cappagh Cemetery. His coffin was draped with the red and white colours of the old Hugginstown jersey. There was a large turnout at his funeral by all his relatives and a wide circle of friends.
