Brennan, Michael

March 31, 2003
The Late Michael Brennan The death took place recently of Mr Michael Brennan, Shandon Park, Kilkenny. News of his death was received with great sadness by all who knew him, particularly in his native parish of Conahy. He was born and grew up in Lisnafunchion, Conahy and it was there that he developed his great love for hurling and football. He was a prominent member of all Conahy teams in the 'Fifties and 'Sixties. When Michael moved to live in Kilkenny he maintained his interest in his native club and his proudest moments came in the middle 'Seventies, when he was part of the management team that saw Conahy Shamrocks win junior and intermediate hurling championships and junior football. Michael will always be remembered with respect and gratitude by Conahy Shamrocks GAA Club. That was evident by the large number of players, past and present, who formed a guard of honour at his removal. He is survived by his wife Alice, sons Tommy and Michael, daughters Olivia, Nora and Josephine. Courtesy of the Kilkenny People March 2003
