The clash of the ash
Goals galore as Kilkenny and Laois made it through to the last four of the Leinster MHC.

Pat Hoban's Kilkenny blitzed Kildare 7-16 to 1-9 in Newbridge to set up a semi-final meeting with provincial holders Dublin. Three goals in the opening 10 minutes from Alan Murphy and Michael Kenny (2) had Kilkenny 3-1 to 0-1 infront.

A Niall Kenny goal settled Kildare but Kilkenny quickly regained their dominance with two more goals from Murphy and Kenny, who completed his hat-trick on 27 minutes as they held a 5-9 to 1-3 interval lead.

Laois produced an outstanding display to overwhelm Offaly in this evening's quarter-final at Portlaoise.

Goals from Stephen Bergin, Joe Campion and John Lennon gave Pat Critchley's side a healthy 3-9 to 0-5 half time lead.

Some accurate free taking from Dylan Murray helped cut the deficit for Offaly but they were unable to make any significant headway as Laois recorded a deserved 4-16 to 0-13 win. They now play Wexford in their semi-final.
