Club scene: Ballyhale lead the way

Ballyhale Shamrocks were the big winners in the second round of the senior hurling league.

With county star TJ Reid back on board, the county champions soared to a 2-17 to 0-7 win over Danesfort at Dunnamaggin on Saturday.

James Stephens also won big, defeating Fenians by 1-17 to 1-6 in Ballyraggett on Friday, while O'Loughlin Gaels also hit the right notes as they accounted for Dicksboro - 2-15 to 0-13 at Nowlan Park on Saturday.

The three closest contests of the weekend saw Erin's Own inflict a one-point defeat on Clara at the county grounds on Sunday (2-6 to 0-11), while Carrickshock and Tullaroan both had three points to spare, against St Martin's (2-16 to 2-13) and Graigue-Ballycallan (2-12 to 1-12) respectively.
