Ballyhale Shamrocks were the big winners in the second round of the senior hurling league.

With county star TJ Reid back on board, the county champions soared to a 2-17 to 0-7 win over Danesfort at Dunnamaggin on Saturday.

James Stephens also won big, defeating Fenians by 1-17 to 1-6 in Ballyraggett on Friday, while O'Loughlin Gaels also hit the right notes as they accounted for Dicksboro - 2-15 to 0-13 at Nowlan Park on Saturday.

The three closest contests of the weekend saw Erin's Own inflict a one-point defeat on Clara at the county grounds on Sunday (2-6 to 0-11), while Carrickshock and Tullaroan both had three points to spare, against St Martin's (2-16 to 2-13) and Graigue-Ballycallan (2-12 to 1-12) respectively. Tweet
