TJ Reid is expected to make his return to competitive hurling tomorrow.
Kilkenny's All Star attacker has been out of action for eight months since having his kneecap cracked in September's All-Ireland hurling final replay against Galway.
However, he is in line to feature for his club Ballyhale Shamrocks in the Kilkenny hurling league on Saturday.
The former Cats captain would then have a full four weeks to regain his match fitness ahead of the Black & Amber's Leinster SHC opener against Offaly in Tullamore on June 9th.
Henry Shefflin has returned to light training but is not expected to be back in time for the Offaly game; JJ Delaney also looks set to miss the clash with the Faithfuls as he will more than likely be suspended following his red card in the league final.
