Quinn: a victory for Kilkenny in every sense

May 09, 2013
County Board chairman Ned Quinn says the Cats put their best foot forward on Sunday.

It was a day of double success for the Black & Amber as they not only hosted a superb NHL final but also managed to win it.

"Everything went very well," the chairman enthuses in The Kilkenny People. "Kilkenny put its best foot forward. It was a victory for Kilkenny in every sense.

"We must pay tribute to the players. It was very important that we won in our home grounds. The players and team management helped turn it into a great day.

"Our grounds staff - Timmy Grogan, Mick O'Neill and their team - had the Park looking exceptionally well.

"There was a great atmosphere in the city from early morning. We have always said we want as many big games at Nowlan Park as possible.

"It's a great hurling venue with a unique atmosphere and we have the people to meet the challenge of staging big matches."
