Hoban: minors never got going
May 09, 2013
Kilkenny minor hurling manager Pat Hoban was disappointed after the defeat to Wexford.
The young Cats suffered a 3-7 to 1-10 defeat to the Model County at Nowlan Park last weekend and Hoban admits in The Kilkenny People:
"We never got our game going. We were sort of waiting for it to happen and it didn't. We still have a chance; we are in the quarter-finals.
"We have to learn from that experience and try and build on it. This is a test of character for us.
"We knew this game wouldn't be easy. Still, it was there to the end really. A break could have swung it either way.
"Fair play to Wexford - they worked hard for what they got.
"It is not an ideal situation because you are heading into the Leaving Cert and so on but we still have a chance of making the semi-finals.
"We are very disappointed. Things didn't happen. We didn't get the scores we did the last day."
