The full back was sent off along with Tipp's Lar Corbett following an off-the-ball incident in the 45th minute, and is facing a one-match ban which will rule him out of the All-Ireland champions' Leinster SHC quarter-final against Offaly in Tullamore on June 9.
"Obviously we have a serious game in five weeks with Offaly," Dempsey said.
"JJ is a huge loss - I thought he was majestic while he was on the pitch. I didn't see the incident, but he's a huge loss. We'll just have to get on with it." Tweet
