His father Syd has lived in Kilkenny for years, owning and running the well known Syd Harkin's pub.
Adrian loved sport and loved Gaelic football, because his father played it with great success in Laois and his mother's people in Mayo were all football people. He adored the black and amber and loved to hurl, winning a minor county championship medal with the Village in 2003.
It was with a lump in his throat that his club mate from The Village, Jackie Tyrell dedicated Leinster's win in the Railway Cup final on Sunday to his friend and fellow player.
